Its been awhile since I've posted here on my space - I've been very busy with work and am really starting to favor WordPress over MSN Spaces and Blogger (see Rick's Ramblings and Rickster). There just seems to be more flexibility in both those environments than Spaces has to offer.  Especially WordPress - I've really fallen for its power and ease of use. The extensibility is fantastic as well.  Blogger has some good customization options, and integration with Google's AdSense program is cool, though I understand Spaces has just added a similar feature.

 

I guess overall, it just is a simple thing of Spaces seeming to be  a "starter" blogging service, and something like WordPress a much more mature platform.  I'll still keep this blog updated periodically, but my main posting will probably end up on the WordPress blog - I may change my domain to point there as well just to make it easier to find.

Hmmm, an interesting idea struck me while at work today - actually an idea for a new opportunity.  This requires an in-depth understanding of the blogging culture and what drives it, feeds it, interests it.  This is kind of strange for me as I've historically been focused on hardware, operating systems, etc...

Well I've been working on my new blog which I intend to keep focused on news and happenings in the technology sphere that I'm interested in.  In addition, I'm planning on keeping this blog updated with more of a bent on my professional life.  I'll be discussing items about career decisions, opportunities, challenges, etc...  This blog will also be updated about information as push AC into reality.

I've created another blog over at Blogger.com.  Checking out the different formatting options available - also can't wait for the new features of Spaces to hit as well!

Jeez, I've been slacking.  Haven't posted in several days, but have not really had anything new going on.  Work is taking a lot of time, there are a lot of projects being worked on and it is really hard to post anyting meaningful while there.  Mostly I've been struggling on finding topics to blog about, I've never been a "journal" person and am actually rather private in my world view.  Starting today I'm going to try to post a few more times on random things that occur, just to see if it makes sense to me or not.  Be forwarned, this may be boring.

I've updated my MSN Space, trying to find a cleaner, simply design.  The themes are nice and all, but I guess I really am a minimalist at heart.  The simpler the better.  Of course that does not always mean it is easy to configure.  It has been enjoyable trying to find the right combination of theme, color, font and other PowerToy settings to get the right "feel".  It is still not quite there yet, but is better than I've had it in the past.

 

Now if I can only figure out this wierd offset between the Blog column and the right-hand side column where my profile sits.  The Blog column seems to be lower by one line or so.
